Zeno paradox,Dischtomy paradoxIt the old math, calculus or physics question. I have two travel points that I am walking...point A,the start point and point B where my journey ends. But in this case,I must only travel half way between point A and point B then stop. Then my next immediate steps must only travel forward 1/2 that same distance again. So my first two walking journeys in a straight line forward are 1/2 the way to point B,then half again, meaning I went 1/4 forward. But I am still moving forward, never going backwards and making progress. Then, the next journey forward to point B is half of a quarter the distance just covered making travel progress to point B or 1/8 the distance forward. At no time am I moving backwards and only making progress in travel forward covering distance towards point B.But my steps are only getting smaller and smaller. But I am moving forward!Now...don't let human steps fool you.You can make it an atomic particle, instead of a foot traveing the same distances! The same applies! The question is....will the human or the particle or anything else, even light rays ever reach point B??? As far as my reading goes, the answer is:Unknown. Its a paradox! Some math formulas states yes, some physics formulas state yes,but then there are counter arguments to those finding as well and they are not defined as exact or precise in the answers! Making progress in the journey with each step, even if you are immortal and can travel for 100 trillion googolplex centuries or more does not guarantee you will get to your point B journey! So,when someone tells me that sure, you MUST reach your destination since you are making progress with each step...I just smile and walk away. www.forbes.com The report opens with "solved",but that is not actually correct. When you read further as well as look at other reports, the answer is still an unknown paradox for the solution. |

Another kind of paradox,well...sort of1 divided by zero must be either one or zero....right?Many say 1 because you are using a zero value,so 1 must be left over.Right?Wrong! ung.edu. The answer is:Undefined!!!!! Now the reverse...0 divided by 1 DOES equal Zero. Not so simple, right? The first...1 divided by 0.....you would be surprised at how many HIGHLY EDUCATED people do not respond with the REAL answer:Undefined!!!!!!! |

I do not care what your calculator states or your smart phone states or your 50 core massive computer states.Just a simple pocket calculator will tell you that 1/0 =zero but usually also shows an "E"symbol meaning error or undefined. When you do the reverse on a dollar value calculator...zero divided by one 0/1....now THAT will show you a zero value. So,yes, there is a difference between the two divisions! So simple but so complex to many. With many never getting it right or understanding. Perhaps I do not understand either!I lose my ATM card usually twice a year and have to place it on hold online, then get another one sent to me with different numbers. But that usually takes two weeks to get it!After I get the new card,I usually find my old card again hiding in the small unreachable areas under the car seat! What does that have to do with the math?Nothing. But I thought i'd put that in here to confuse you even more! |
