Long before the Russian war on the Ukraine...there was this German singer...

 Long before the Russian war on the Ukraine...there was this German singer......who entered Moscow one evening.The huge arena was filled to capacity.Thousands upon thousands of fans worshiped this singer.A reoccurring event with her time and time again throughout Germany,Italy,France and most other countries across continental Europe and into Japan.Even in the USA,the US fans back in 1985 gave her the nickname of..."The European Madonna"in honor of her mega success throughout Europe and her Euro record sales that began to surpass their own Queen of Pop called Madonna.I had professionally recorded her in both Belgium and France back in the 1980's.By 1985,indeed,a Super Queen had arisen. Interesting enough,she was a kind of " flagship symbol 🚢"in Germany,being Germany's Top Pop Superstar for decades.Sandra was singing in West Germany when the Berlin Wall was still standing.Even more interesting is that this little lady with a big voice had her home domain in Germany which is a part of NATO,an alliance not recognized by Russia and their governments interests.It is to be noted that only about 5% of the Russian people,even back in 2013 actually spoke or understood English.Yet,all of Sandra's tunes,including in Moscow,were sang in English! See,no matter what language someone understands,what the Russians and others DID comprehend is her brilliancy,her aura of electricity and what actually makes a legend. Wars are wars.But music is universal,even if many in the crowd below do not understand a word of her tunes!While I prefer her originals from the 1980's/1990's...let me show you the reactions of the Russians in Moscow back then...long AFTER the height of Sandra's fame had waned(1985-1992)as her Wiki will tell you.She is much older in this music video,but that made no difference to the Russians!Where is Putin?I do not see him in that huge crowd!!May be he's the guy I handed the commode cleaning brush to,that evening in the bathroom? www.youtube.com 2013 Moscow.Everlasting Love/Maria Magdalena.Maria M placed #1 on the hit charts in 21 countries,top 10 in 5 more countries. A tune proudly mentioned in another club by someone. Why would I bring this up?Well,I remembered playing that Banjo tune as a "novelty"with one of my club bands,because our Sax player went out in front of the crowd to dance it up extremely fast.But,it was only a passing tune,played and forgotten in about 5 minutes. But putting "novelties" aside...you get my meaning....it runs deep. Hope you enjoyed a few of Sandra's classics!She was indeed,rated #1 as the top Pop singer in not only Germany,but around the world.Her voice was also rated #1 back in those days by thousands of music pro's and millions of her fans in over 40 countries. Dozens of albums,over 150 singles,over a thousand compilation albums and more....if you count up her entire career starting at age 14(yes 14!)from her Disco tunes with Arabesque(age 17) and into her Pop career starting in 1985. |
