Team Forum Participation
There's not much activity in mine - is that typical?

very typical I have been on many teams over the years and nobody seems to like using it.
Par for the course.

Team Forum
I periodically use mine for team achievements.

But our team does use it bit.

However, I have sent "roll call" messages from the team forum and only about 1/3 ever responded.

Roll Call
"However, I have sent 'roll call' messages from the team forum and only about 1/3 ever responded."

I think I would be too worried about being discouraged by the results to attempt such an experiment.

I do not want to know!

Anyhow, I do the majority of posting in my team's forum. Other players participate, too, but most of those who do do so irregularly, and it is not as much as 1/3 of the team.

It may be as much as 1/3 of my roster's premium subscribers, though. Only premium subscribers are allowed to post in the Team Forum, right?

@pmcmurphy
That's right.

I have told my team that non-premium members could send me their note & I'd post it for them. A few have done it, but quite a while ago

My opinion
I think that regardless of the extent of participation, it is a good idea to have a forum where ideas can be shared publicly. Communication is important, as it promotes understanding among participants rather than having individuals simply cutting off one another by putting them on "ignore." Doing that accomplishes nothing positive, and it should not be used unless someone is truly harassing a player or captain. Although I am not a big fan of the United Nations, I do believe that it has the possibilities of publicly addressing a nation's gripes without going to war. Dialog is important! Neutral parties can sometimes come up with suggestions that disagreeing parties might have overlooked. Chess is supposed to be a unifying element of human behavior. And team chess does even more towards that end than individual play.

Just my thoughts.
