In the last club when we got rid of catseye and paradiesvogel did someone suspected migeri as he was a bit suspect and he left his team. Well he is with czech republic.

Can anyone put me right if i have got the wrong person.

We also got rid of Stormtracker.

@ royalknight1
You are correct.

Player Notes
I make player notes on all culprits.

For Migeri,

05-Aug-24) Rating manipulation
game Resigns with free queen
game Let’s play

If it was just these two we could chalk it up to bad hair day, but it was absolutely an overt pattern.

@Lord_shiva

If you have a list, I have one as well…care to comparison notes?

List
I didn’t compile a list so much as I just used the user notes which are preserved even after name changes.

What are "user notes" please?
lord_shiva

Notes…
Hide extra stats
» Games in progress (excluding private games)
» Past game history » Rivals
» Past live game history
» Challenge to a game » Add to ignore list
» Send a private message » Add to friends list
» Notes…

Click Notes… and put details about the person there. What openings they prefer, or information relevant to them—such as “this person threw a queen in bd=xxxxxx in a blatantly obvious effort to manipulate their rating.” Personal notes help serve as a reference for people you play more than once.

Notes…
For example, I might learn you were a former COBOL programmer. I know you were in software development, but not what language. I could put that in your notes for future reference—a topic to discuss in game chat should we ever play.

I worked for the same company for 35 years massively improving their ERP software, written in COBOL. I too do gardening, specializing in dill pickles, crab apple jelly, plum jam, and I’m working on a pie cherry tree if the deer will quit molesting it.

Thanks! I had missed that!

I had a reading knowledge of COBOL on one positiin but never wrote any code. I wrote a lot of scientific programs in FORTRAN, PL-I and BASIC.

Your garden specialties are some of my favorites that my Mom & Grandma made. Aside from a cherry tomato in a flowerpot, we do flowers. A constant battle vs the bunnies!

Bunnies
We suffer feral bunnies. They molest my tomatoes too.

My grandmother taught me how to do the pickles. Pick them fresh in the early morning while they remain crisp from the night air. Wash, pack loosely. My dad explained that the dill head, weed, stalk—it all goes in and then add more dill because you can’t get too much. I have found that two cayenne or one jalapeño (I grow both in a small greenhouse) add just the right amount of heat for zing. I usually pitch in a few garlic cloves and celery seed. I eschew pickling spice.

@lord_shiva: your user notes idea is excellent. I’ll start doing this as well, much better than a list which I tend to lose.

My Grandma put in the whole dill too. In a huge crockery container in her tiny kitchen. I loved the fragrance when I lifted the cover; ditto for her sauerkraut.

L S / Saguaro
You try Kangaroos and Ants and the odd Emu.
The ants like our fig tree it's a race to get to the figs first.
Kangaroos eat my ground cover during the early hours and all they do is eat then poo then it's clean up time some big Kangaroos are 6ft tall not to mess with.
One day i'm in the front garden and out of the bush runs an Emu heading my way i jumped straight into action and ran in the house.

We all have problems with wild life a battle of wits.

Going back to migeri and others i keep them on my ignore list so i can keep an eye on them.

Geoff.

When i put a player on ignore i click on them and the notes are there letting me know why there on ignore.

even though I'm not taking sides and don't have anyone on my ignore list, this is a smart way of doing things, Geoff.

Manipulation?
A good way to determine if a player is a manipulator is to look at his/her team game rating
vs current rating, If those rating are close and especially if the team game rating is higher than
current rating, that is a manipulator.
royal_knight1
13-Aug-25, 23:05

cyber-1 has left the knights templar and resigned 22 ladder and team games leaving him with only 1 his rating has gone from 1641 to 1400 manipulation could be round the corner.
I shall not offer him any matches.

reported
cyber1 has reported me to GK regards my last post at the time i had not noticed he was leaving GK i thought he could be a possible manipulator.

The following forum post made by royal_knight1 on 13-Aug-25, 23:05 has been reported by cyber-1 with the following note: I am leaving GK because like in this thread people are manipulating me. Think about what has been said about me here and consider that I am not in a team and I am in the process of leaving GK .
If the reported messages violate GameKnot's Rules and Policies, please take the appropriate action as soon as possible — delete the offending post and warn or remove the users involved.

It will be interesting to see what, if anything, GK does…

…my vote is: they’ll do nothing.

My post about rating manipulation in this thread had nothing to do with Jimmy.
I do not believe he has been manipulating. There is a fine line between manipulating
and "playing harder in team games".

Jimmy is a rare individual in that he really enjoyed doing team matches.
saguaro

We should have a new thread (or a Miscellaneous one) for posts such as the one about Jimmy, rather than mixing it in here.

@mikemate
sacrificing your Queen on move 3 and then resigning doesn't ring true with playing harder in team games!
