Of course, we sentence blacks to prison for the same crime whites get probation or upended sentences. What is the difference between sugar cubes and powdered sugar? The same as the difference between crack and powder coke. But crack sentences run five to ten times as harsh, given this form is more popular with black people. If I posted this on Neutral Ground I would expect to get censored.

OK, so it is not about doing them (or you) any good, but to "keep them off the streets". The fact of the matter is that extensive studies have shown - years ago - that jailing people does not decrease crime! But facts don't matter in the US of A, as can be clearly seen in the numbers en.wikipedia.org You are worse than Russia, and don't get back at me saying that Americans are more prone to crime than others.

If he had not squawked to Mueller and the courts, Cohen was looking at 20 years for his crimes. Mueller and the courts were just. 3-years in the slammer, a $2 Million "fife" and loss of his Law practice license is sufficient punishment for Cohen --- he will have a possibility for probation release from jail in 1.5 years or so if he doesn't get raped or murdered.   Cohen's strong admission of guilt and "forgiveness" statements might also open the door for "legal" pardon by our Great Potus. We can not call ourselves civilized. If it had been you or I who received sentance. We would have been led away to our sentence immediately. At least Cohen gets to have the holiday season with his family. IMHO society needs a top to bottom reform.

If I defraud someone and make 2 million dollars in the process. Then get fined 100k for it. I still net 1.9 million. Not a deterrent. It is simply the Government getting a cut of the action. The price of doing business. These Banks and firms now put money aside Just to pay the fines. Financial predation is a huge yet all too common problem

Mueller found out that Cohen paid $ 130 K to porn star to keep her mouth shut. Mueller wants to implicate Trump that he used the campaign money which is a criminal offense to impeach him. Mueller should stop this nonsense since 130 K is amount to nothing compared to 100 million that Trump spent to become the president. So far, Trump did not profit any monetary gain by becoming president. Rather he is losing money and is sacrificing his real estate business activities. We all should condone such a dedicated president to make America great again.
