FriendOur vast mutually-clad choices daily. A bind, to which we diligently tend Inclined to help 'spite of chores so scaly. To share such devotion is rarely found A friend that stands by, through thick or through thin. Dives on water, saves me from being drowned And guards my back whether we lose or win. Makes headway for us if he finds a chance But am I friend to him, the man I love? To pledge my oath, my wealth, to take that stance And have I strength? Or do I love enough? Sufficient to say I'm inadequate A sycophantic friend in etiquette |
