I am not a golfer at all!!
Never took it up. Around here where I
live [south Texas] golf is a big past time
for retired people. I have never tried!!

Sorry, I dont play either. Follow the big tournaments on tv...and of course the Ryder cup. Football ( soccer to you ) tennis, cricket, rugby...played all those. Still manage a little tennis, and even the odd game of 5 a-side football for about ten minutes !

Love to golf
However, I don't have any good stories. I'm a little too busy to golf as much as I would like, but I've been trying to go once a week this summer. Maybe when I retire I will get more time. Might even go to Texas and take Chuck. I'd love to find something I could beat him in ))

I play .....
I was on on the Varsity team in High School for four years. Was the #1 seed for the last two with an average of 39-40 for nine holes. I was asked to walk on to the Purdue University team, but after seeing how much they practice and compete I said, "No thanks." NCAA golf requires about 2x more time committment from the student than any other varsity sport. I wanted to major in engineering, not golf. It was hard enough that I was in the Marching Band (time-wise)!
I've played off and on since. Not much this year. Graduate school and a growing family have really put the cabosh on free time! However, in the years I can get out frequently (it's been at least 3 years ago now since that was true!), after a few rounds in the spring, I can usually get my average back down to the 79-82 range depending on the course.

I golf.
I teach school during the school year, and work at a golf course during the summers. I'm about an 8 handicap, and I just love the game.

Like I said above I do not.....
golf. I like to hunt and fish. I spent 2 years
in Utah. I was at Hill AFB at Ogden. Never
made it to Lake Powell but I fished the Green River
up north and the Flaming Gorge. I went to many
small lakes around Ogden like Lake Mantua.
I hunted all over the state but mostly down
around Vernal in the Uintas.
Utah is a great state to live in.

I used to work on a golf course too
That's a great way to go. Back in my High School days, I'd water the course at night and spend most of the day playing. I also played on my HS team, but we were not that good. I don't even keep a handicap anymore, but if I did I'd be around 15. Now here's my good golf story...... A few weeks ago while golfing with my dad on my old home course in Idaho, I got 2 eagles in the same 18 hole round. It's the only 2 I've had all summer. Still only shot a 79, so that tells you about the rest of my round )

I shot a 96 with a hole-in-one and a birdie!
We all have rounds like that. It seems like if something too good happens, you can't play anymore.

I once played in a club match & on 12 holes could not have hit a cows backside with a shovel, but I birdied the 6 par three's & won a whole load of balls!!
