I think
we should threaten with mate by Rg7g6, and then after Kh7 we can take a free pawn.

I agree
Rg7g6 gets my vote.

I resign.
Looking at the above position, I see no possible way to avoid checkmate. 33...Kh7 is met by 34.Rg7+ Kh8 35.Rg8+ Kh7 36.R1g7#, while all my other moves are met simply by 34.Rxh6#. The only option here is for me to resign the game.

I would like to congratulate all the members of the Knights of Honour Chess Club on a finely-played game and on excellent team work. Now that the game is over, I have been able to glance back at the contributions of the various club members, and I am pleased that I was able to provoke such debate.

Again, many thanks for the game, and congratulations to all participants!

Yours sincerely,

fatcat2.

Its not mate yet. :)
That's exactly the mating pattern I had in mind to win the game. However you prevented it by moving your rook to c8.

35. Rg8+ is no longer possible because of 35...Rxg8!

This would in fact lose the game for white.

After Kh7
White is more likely to reply to Kh7 by Rxe6.
