7...O-O
My move is 7...O-O (castles kingside).

Your move, Knights of Honour Chess Club!

May I ask a favour? I notice that, so far, only about 4 or 5 KoHCC players are voting against me. I would like this game to be more inclusive than that...I'd prefer to be playing against a pool of the whole club's formidable talent. So, could we all try to inform other club members of this consultation game? Thanks, fatcat2.

Right
Sorry about that!
Everyone this is the good link to analyze, not the one in my previous msg!!

8.Bd3
I vote for Bd3

I doubt you'll get many more players to vote against you fatcat. We have the Club verses Club game and this one. But neither seem to be attracting much attention. I'm pretty sure everyone knows about them. We could try messaging the members but I think you might be hard pressed to get more involved. Its a pity though since this is perhaps one of the best ways to improve your game, having lots of other players explaining moves can only make us all better.

I only wish some of the stronger players would turn up often then perhaps we could all get a much deeper understanding of the game.

It sure is a good move, I was also thinking about 8. Bh6, what do you think?

My suggestion
Hi guys, I will try to log in every now and again to this game, but can't promiss I'll be there every move. Anyway, my suggestion now would be Nf3 to open the castling option and being able to counter Qa5 with Bd2.
Playing Bh6 is according te me a bit less compared to Nf3, because then ... Nf5, 9. Bd3, Bd2. Which means that black has a free move to get an important field with his knight.

8. Bh6
We probably need to leave the dark squared bishop where it is. Bh6 threatens checkmate but its easily stopped and might cause us problems. The knight is certainly going to f3 at some point but it doesn't need to go there straight away. We need to take advantage of our extra space on the king side that's why I like Bd3 plus its part of the French Winawer line I'm following.

Qa5 is met by Bd2 whether we play Bd3 or Nf3

So I'm still voting for Bd3.

Yes,
It can cause us some trouble, that B to h6, if we should play that, we have to do it right.

So, I will skip that move, and vote for Bd3, looks like the best move.... so that makes:

2 votes for 8.Bd3
1 vote for 8.Nf3

If there is no change in that before 12pm GK time, I will make 8.Bd3 then.

My vote:
9. Nf3, to prepare our castling. Not necessarily in the next move, but I think this move is needed now, because otherwise our king is going to naked, shame on him - lol

I concur
Playing Nf3 now after Bd3 is just a different order of how I suggested it last time, so it has my vote.

9.Qh5
Yes Nf3 is going to happen but not yet.

I vote for Qh5

one vote fro 9. Qh5

Nf3
In preparation, but not for castling. A little greek gift perhaps? The stage is set . . .

9. Nf3
Being the early developer that I have come to be, I must vote for Nf3. (rhyme not intended)

Warning: time
I had better warn you that you may run out of time in this game. The unrated analysis game that doji started against me is set for 14 days per move; however, I think you only have 9 days left. So you only have 9 days to vote for the next move. At the moment, people appear to have forgotten about this game, so I'd advise you to take a trip down memory lane for a while  .

Apologies to belgje I spelt your name wrong the first time.

10. Qh4
Since our queen must move somewhere to prevent capture, I vote for Qh4. The queen is protected by our knight with this move as well.

So!
2 votes for 10. Dh4
2 votes for 10. exf6 e.p.
Others? Otherwise I will pick one of the two

En Passant
Thank you doji for clarifying exf6 e.p. I could not figure out for the life of me how exf6 was possible, but I was afraid to question the move for fear of making myself look bad.

I am now going to change my vote to exf6 e.p. as I feel this would be our best move at this juncture.

2. d4 d5

11. Qh4
My suggestion is Qh4 followed by Qxh7# (if we can catch fatcat2 off guard).   I also like the idea of O-O.
