O yes
By the way, did you know I can't count? Luckily I know that in the initial position on the board, every color has 7 pawns!!! - lol I will post 15... Qc6!

A lot of choices
I don't know which move is the best, but I will list my suggestion. 16...0-0 16...Nb6 16...Nc5

16...0-0
Get the king out of harms way, 0-0.
|
|
16...Nc5
As far as I know, 16...Nc5 forces white to give up the bishop pair for our knight. It might be worth consideration. It might be a mistake, so thank you for analysing my suggestion.

16... O-O
I agree with caknight, we've now lingered in the center too long. Time to O-O. Depending on what white does, for the next couple of moves we should look at moves like Nd7->Nc5->Ne4, Rf1->c1, and a7->a5->a4, the basic plan being to cause trouble for the white LSB on b3 and put pressure on c6/c7. I would not trade our N for the white LSB, as I believe our N is worth more right now.

Either Move
I think O-O is good as well as Kn c5 since that would exchange our Kn for white's B and would take some pressure off us once we castle. It aslo cleans out that side of his board pretty much and W will have a problem down the road protecting his p's.

My vote for our next move
I pick 16...O-O as our move; we have developed all our minor pieces and castling gets the King off the e-file, with White's Rook on e1. In the current position, trading our Knight for White's light-square Bishop allows his 2 isolated Queen-side pawns to reunite. We should watch for opportunities later for such a trade, while keeping his pawns isolated...

So
16... 0-0 it will be.

17...Nb6
It looks like white wants to double the rooks on the d-file & go after our pawn on d5, Nb6 will cover the pawn.

Our move 17
17...Nb6 seems best. Bringing one of our Rooks to d8 to protect our d5 pawn won't help with a Knight on d7. We may do that after the Knight moves...

Agree
Looks like the only move available on that side of the board since we prob don't want to move our K p's yet

Well,
17... Nb6 it will be!

18... Bg4
White is threatening 19.Rg3 and 20.Bh6. We need to be careful not to weaken the dark squares around the K. For example playing 18... g6? would be inviting disaster. Fortunately, white's light square bishop is worthless, so we should look at playing on the light squares on the K-side, where he'll have trouble challenging us. So I suggest gaining a tempo with 18... Bg4. This allows our Q to cover our 3rd rank, preventing a subsequent Bh6, and gains a tempo by forces him to move the Rd1, since 19.f3 thwarts his plan to move Rg3.

|
18. Bg4
I second the move of Bg4.

caknight 14-Nov-10, 12:44
|
18...Bg4
Very good analysis by hityerclock, after 18...Bg4 white might try 19.Rc3.

Bg4 Move
Looks ok to me...I don't think it will lead to much on either side but at least it's safe for now and makes W move his R; however, after W gets his R moved. he's still going to move Rg3 soon and put pressure on us

A move by any other name...
OK- I give in to peer pressure; 18...Bg4 it is!

Our move 19
How about 19...Rac8? White seems to be preparing for 20.c4, and will have 3 pieces trained on that square, while we have only 2 now.
|
|
19. Nc4
I vote for Nc4 to put pressure on their rook.
|
dmaestro 21-Nov-10, 00:37
|
Nc4
Seems more active. White has the bishop pair and we have an isolani. The N needs to be active or that and the greater mobility of the W king side pawns will prove fatal.
|
wildfiree 21-Nov-10, 00:43
|
Nc4
I'm also down with Nc4

andywm 22-Nov-10, 18:22

Or
Qe6 to stop his p from advancing and putting a dent in our K's armour

Nc4
I like 19... Nc4, and if 20.Rg3 we play 20... Qe6.

So,
19... Nc4 it will be!!
