Move 20. Reassessment

Yes, dxc5 is a good move as well. My only concern with this move is the possibility of fatcat2's successive move of d4. We would then want to avoid the temptation of cxd4 as his succeeding move could be Nxd4 thereby providing protection to his rook. His then move would threaten our c2 pawn and potentially threaten our a1 rook as well.

This being said and considered, dxc5 is okay with me.

I did not consider that scenario. It works for me, but I think your assessment of fatcat2's succeeding moves is probably a more accurate one. I really appreciate the means in which these consultation games force one to think and reason.

My recommendation is Rfc1 to protect our pawn.

And there is a fork.

I think that pawn is lost anyway, maybe we have to move the f-rook to b1?, to attack his pawn on b6.

Yes, I knew that move was coming next.
But after considering it again it would leave black with two central pawns. I admit that's an advantage that is too great to ignore. I think perhaps a draw might be still possible. But it might not so I guess I'm going to change my vote.

I'm voting for Rfb1

in this we leave our bishop as bait. we break even in pieces but we are in a better position because of an open b file and a passed pawn. his Rook has 2 worry about both our passed pawn and our c2 pawn so fatcat can get a queen.

dogi, I think you are "on a roll!" I think your scenarios are logical ones. Rxb7 yields one up in material at the very least.

that 24. Rc7 is the move to make!! We attack two pieces, he almost has to take our bishop and we can take his knight.

Upcoming: leave of absence

I had better let you know, that from the 14th August to the 26th August I will be taking leave of absence for a holiday in France - so, don't be surprised if I don't play my move during that period!

What a surprise....

I will be in France on holiday from the 7th August until the 29th August, maybe we should stop making moves from the 7th until the begining of September (because fatcat2 and me are making the moves in the unrated game so everyone can analyze the board. I think that this is the best, or are there other opinions?
