Your opponent will then move his king more than likely because he will need the king's assistance if he hopes to salvage the game, so black will probably move Kg6. Then we reply with aandersen's move 30. Rb1 preparing it to help with promoting the pawn. Black has a couple options after that.

Why do I want to make that move? Well to threaten the pawn on g7. Black can't move it since its pinned to the king by the rook on a7.

kendo-ka 08-Sep-09, 13:29	My Vote I'm going with Rg1. But I would say Rc1 looks like an interesting move too.   I encourage everyone to have a look at both these moves. If you have any other moves that I haven't mentioned that look good don't hesitate to analyse them. It also would be useful to mention why you like a particular move and also offer up any analysis you have. Why do I like Rc1? Well it pins blacks bishop to his rook. Its not a real pin though because the bishop is protected by the pawn.   The reason I chose Rg1 instead is because its part of the plan to attack blacks king. It also wins us a pawn which can't hurt.
