Is it just me?
Or has the entire country gone crazy?

We don't bomb 190 bad guys clustered together in a tight little group just waiting for it, but we do court marshall our Marines because an Iraqi citizen said they killed somebody.

We can no longer make the captured bad guys feel uncomfortable while we interrogate them but we must give them medical attention, the best of food, exercise, prayer rugs & Korans, plus our legal system lawers and trials.

We have the ACLU sueing the Boy Scouts of America, trying to remove the word God from everything in sight, and trying to remove all crosses from all memorials in the country.

We have current Senators and Representatives calling the President a liar, a loser, unhinged etc. while former Presidents go to foreign countries and to say "America is the problem" and other unflatoring things about the U.S.

We have a President who says he wants to protect the U.S. from all terrorists but refuses to enforce the immigration laws or close the border.

The U.S. is completely dependent on foreign oil and yet we continue to veto all attempts at real oil exploration, drilling, and refinement as well as any attempts to invent new alternative technologies.

We have a court system that rules (makes legislation) from the bench and completely ignores the Constitution... such as the Kelo Case where local governments were given the right to seize private property and give it to other private citizens or companies.

I bet you can think of many more examples of where the country has gone crazy... or is it just me?

No Softy
It's not just you. I could write quite a number of examples myself. Right is being called wrong and wrong is being called right. I know why this is happening so it doesn't tip me over too much. Lets just say we all have a common enemy.

Upside Down
If buttercups buzz'd after the bee
If boats were on land, churches on sea
If ponies rode men and if grass ate the cows
And cats should be chased into holes by the mouse
If the mamas sold their babies
To the Gypsies for half a crown
If summer were spring
And the other way 'round
Then all the world would be upside down!

Down Under,
is that a place called Australia where ducks have fur, snow falls in the summer, and barbies don't wear pink?

well, since you asked...
If the entire country goes one way and you another, then you are a social deviant, which is not the same as crazy.

Your analysis is exact. And it is true, regardles of party, theory or practice...

I once was
a Democrat because, at one time, I thought they represented my views the best. (Kennedy era). Then I became a Republican because I thought they best represented my views. (Regan era). Then I became a Third Party guy (Ross Perot era) because neither party represented good common sense... but that only allowed the worst of the two viable possibilities to win. I have struggled with the decision to try to elect the "least worst" or to vote for something positive, that I agree with, and live with the outcome.

For the last two elections electing the "least worst" has been much better than the alternative and was not a hard decision as far as my personal vote was concerned, especially since there was no Third Party alternative.

Give me one good alternative to vote for and I have to vote for what I think is the "best guy" (or woman) even if it means electing the worst. We aren't doing that great with the "least worst" so how much worse could it be?

I would love to see
a decent third party candidate run... and I would also love for people to get so fed up with the ridiculous partisan silliness that the third party won. That would throw people for a loop. But that would probably turn out to be the antichrist or something. I'm going to vote for Jon Stewart next time.

It used to be Pat Paulsen,
but I could vote for any one of a number of "characters" who would get the job done better than the last several.
