Confrontation
Is the world afraid of Muslims? It would seem so.

They are becoming a feared people, where cartoonosts, authors and Popes are held hostage to the fear
that reprisals in the form of extreme violence will be the result.

Why isn't the world condemning islamofascist groups that are creating a bully image of their religion.

Presidents, Popes and Politicians are afraid to call out the rest of the Muslim world to control the radical
side of their religion that is tearing the world to pieces.

This isnt just Politically Correct speech that Im talking about...Im saying the World is afraid of being
targeted by radical muslims if they happen to say the wrong thing.

Why isnt the world rising up and saying "No!" to all of this...

In WWII was it the British and French that told Hitler that he could keep part of Czechoslavakia..then he
took the rest...and then he pushed until they drew the line at Poland...and by the time Poland fell...Hitler
was at their doorstep.

Isnt this a bit of a replay....have we learned nothing.

The Left and Right have, obviously, different opinions on how to solve the matter...but my opinion right
now is that both parties are actually afraid. Theyre afraid to tell the truth. To call this what it is. The
Left laughs when Bush calls it evil...but what else is there than that?

I think we would be a whole lot better off if the world met, stood up and said "Hi. My name is Earth. And
Im afraid. Im afraid that if I say the wrong thing, radical muslims will target me and my people."

And then get on with fixing the problem...

this leads me to another thread...the enablers...

I believe..
..that the western, democratic, world is starting to realise that we should be very afraid of these people. The problem we have is that our democracy may not be able to withstand the onslaught that we are increasingly being subjected to.

The great things about our democracy are also potentially the great weaknesses. Our society has developed and levelled out to some extent i.e. people are more equal, everyone has a voice and everyone feels able to question authority. This is an ongoing process that may have begun with the freedom movements in the 60's. As technology has advanced this has accelerated.

We are now faced with a feudal enemy whose society has none of these freedoms or restraints. Restraints in so far as if our leaders do something then they are questioned at every turn. Raise the security level and voices clamour that it is a cynical political ploy!

Nobody questions in Islam, the majority blindly follow the imams. Islam is an exclusive religion. No other religion or belief can be tolerated. The religion is their society, not part of it as in our world. Worse they are becoming an increasing part of our society, they are already among us. They come not to integrate but to change. I wonder if our democracy is up to the job of protecting us or if, in our endeavours to be all inclusive and accepting it will help destroy us.

Some ramblings, probably open to accusations of racism but I think we are in big trouble.

To be continued in the enablers..

Excellent points in that post, particulary the above. We will be destroyed from within, the great Roman Empire went the same way..not through defeats in great battles but through complacency.

After watching the 9/11 movie
or parts of it the other night. At the end, Leo, it seemed to me that we have not done nearly enough.
It frightened me that both parties are hell-bent on accusing the other of being incompetent or unpatriotic,
instead of coming together and solving the problems.

We are, inn my mind, no better protected than we were prior to 9/11. The problem is we can stop 99
atacks they only need one to succeed. We have to "pitch aperfect game" if you will. And that is unlikely/
impossible.

I deem "devisive politics" public enemy #1. Our inability to stand down on the politics in order to actually
make people safer will be our demise.

I deem "the enablers" public enemy #2.

Oddly, kop, who is no longer with us, use to rant on and on about how incompetent Bush is and how he
was a bigger trerrorist than the real terrorists. That he was a criminal. I would say right now, at this
very moment I dont believe the political system will let any President win this war. The willingness to
drag down our political opponents will be our doom. If a liberal were in office, the Republicans would be
demanding more action -- (assuming no war in Iraq and possibly none in Afghanistan) and preparing the
rope and tree to hang him up next time we got hit.

Its a no win, Im afraid. Its our own damn fault. We undermine Bush, we dont let him do what he needs
to do to wipe these guys of the earth...without making him into criminal.

Sad.
