Hi I am Daniel Zhang from Australia, Sydney. I am 12 years old and got introduced to chess at the age of 6, won a lot of trophies in the NSW Junior Chess Tournament.

My biggest achievement would be coming 4th in the Australia Junior Chess Championships Open U/10 2006-2007 (held in Canberra) and coming 6th in the Australian Junior Chess Championships Open U/12 (Adelaide) (which i reckon i should have came 1st because i was going good until the last 2 rounds which i lost, but damn i should have won both of them)

Besides chess i play Reps or A grade Soccer, Piano 8th grade AMEB, Computer games (the only game that i play is GAMEKNOT!!!!!, and many more which the lists keeps going

My computer life is kinda boring. Well i got a bit of problems switching my itunes.
but i will discuss that in other forums!!!

I am.......
Who I am   Chris O'Bee is my real name, I like to be transparent in everything!
I can confirm GG is a real computer freak lol. Me, I just fiddle around if I have a problem on my PC and somehow or other can usually resolve it.
I started playing chess back in 1972 inspired by the great Bobby Fischer so he is to blame for me being on GK at all !! Won lots of small tourneys, finished 2nd by half a point in a Brtish Championship CC event a few years ago just missing out on a British master title for life which the winner received automatically
Anyone who knows me or has read my profile knows I have a tiny bit of talent for writing poetry ^-^

Amici sumus,

Chris

I'm 14, love music, I play (bass) clarinet & saxophone (and a little piano). I'm somewhere in the intermediate range of computer programming (with visual basic 6), it's great. I hope to do it professionally someday.... :7)

I'm envious!
Of all this musical talent, I once scored 4/100 in a music test at school. My best friend found it so funny until being told he scored 2/100! So I guess I'll stick to poetry and gmdz you really would not want to hear me sing anyway
But I DO love music ^-^

Hello
My name is Linda. I've been playing chess since before Fischer, but Fischer definitely swelled the ranks of those playing the game in the US. I won a few minor chess titles in the US before becoming involved with someone who did not play.

My occupation is a database architect / DBA. I've done other computer programming as well, Visual Basic, COBOL, Paradox, dBase, Basic4.... I created and ran a computer company for a while, Intuitive Computer Systems. Incorporated in 1989 and was successful until 2001 when I burned out and sold it in pieces.

Other than my job and chess I have five children, lots of cats, birds and two dogs. I like to knit, sew and a few other crafts.

Thanks for accepting me into this club
My name is Jim. Up unto 3 years ago, I was a "greenhorn" where chess is concerned only aware of how the pieces moved. In fact, with the exception of timeouts, I lost the first 35 GK games I played. However, I am not easily discouraged. I soon become enthralled in chess, and joined the GK community first as a Gold member and then as a Platinum one.

I am currently founder of the Knights of Honor Club, co-founder of the Inspire Someone Today Club, joint founder of Club Founders, co-captain of the Warriors of the Blood Team, and a regular member of now 4 other clubs (here at Gameknot). I recently became a Diamond (highest level) member of Chess.com, and soon thereafter formed the Knights of Honor Club / Team there. I am also president of a small "live" chess club in Nashville, Tennessee.

Relative to computers, I have 25+ years experience with PC's. I have used DOS and every version of Windows developed to date. I own 3 computers, 2 desktops and a laptop. While my hardware knowledge / skills is limited, I am quite the software buff. I own $1000's worth of software, mainly XP compatible, although I also own a sizable collection of Vista software as well. I am an amateur web designer / publisher. I have designed 8 sites and published 6 of them. I have but one -- www.DBSAMadisonChapter.org --on the Net right now, but I will soon have a shell of my pinnacle website published soon--www.JesusOurBeacon.com.

I have a BBA in Information Systems Management from Belmont University in Nashville. I worked 9 years for the University of Tennessee as one of the first Video Conferencing Technicians and later as Assistant LAN Administrator (mainly servicing users). I am now disabled, and I volunteer my time as head Lab Technician at a senior center in Nashville. In addition, I teach computer skills for individuals in my spare time.

I am very glad to be a member of this club, and I look forward to participating in its forum. Thanks again for having me.

Hello!
My name is David, I'm 47, I live in Florida, USA, and began playing chess before I was 10. I played as a past time for many years. But by the time I was in my 20's I played daily, studied chess (esp. openings), and actually devoted much of my time to game study and play. But never really got involved in tournaments or clubs. Never thought I was good enough. Eventually, life pushed out my chess, and other activities took it's place. I may have played 5 games over the past 15 years... then my brother-in-law mentioned that he plays chess on-line at GameKnot... I registered in January... and here I am playing chess again daily. At first, my game was more than a little rusty, but it has started to come back to me a little at a time. I did not realize how much I enjoyed chess! But then again, my #1 enjoyment out of life is "problem solving". That's why I enjoy computer/IT/tech/geek stuff!

That brings me to why this club sounded perfect... I am mostly self-taught in everything I do... computer systems, networking, web development etc... are just a few of the hobbies of mine that have turned into a career. I own a small company called Equipped 4 Service Connection, LLC, which covers a broad area of design, marketing, and training. I do everything from web development (mostly open-source CMS like Joomla, Magenta, Moodle etc), to Graphic Design. I specilize in SEO, as I am a CSEM (Certified Search Engine Marketer), I am also a Print Broker. I spend lots of time working with non-profits and those who cannot afford the high costs of SEO/SEM and CMS websites. I love open-source applications and help my clients save money and time by teaching them how to take advantage of open-source applications within their organization. Although I custom build and repair computers, it is not part of my business - I do that to help friends and family. I am right at home on a PC, MAC or LINUX OS and Server systems. Although I am not a programmer, I understand, edit and work with PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, XML etc... I am an Adobe fan and own most all of their software (CS3 Master Collection). I and am certified as Master Level in Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat; and Advance Level in Dreamweaver, and Illustrator.

I love teaching/consulting with people. If any of these areas I have mentioned are areas of interest, or if someone needs help in these areas, I am available.
