String theory
Here is a site for those that want to catch up on string theory basics. I hope to delve move into
this topic moving forward.

Another interesting development getting quite a bit of support, the problem it has at the moment is being completely untestable. If true it does solve some long standing problems, it might be a long time before we can test it though sadly.

I had a look at this, we may get lucky on it, here is an article that proposes to test string
theory

Now if you can even begin to understand that you are well beyond me!

But they would still only be testing elements of the theory, not it in it's entirety.

Here is a couple of overviews that bring the study into (somewhat) understandable form.

Quantum entanglement....That is another beast altogether!

The creativity of some scientists is pretty amazing, I don't doubt we will be able to inch
forward on it. After the shutdown they will run the collider at higher energy levels, I don't
know if that will help or not.

I believe the latest is " Wave theory" which replaces the String theory. I watched it on TV - science channel. Can you verify that?

I haven't heard of it yet, I will have to read up on it. I have been busy debating evoloution with creationists of late   Sounds like a perfect Christmas project though.

Astronomy & physics are my favorite subjects for science.. I'm in the process of reading The Grand Design by Stephen Hawking & Leonard Mlodinow. Do you remember the title of the program that was on the Science Channel?

The first physics book that got me into the topic was another Hawking book, the good ol, Brief History of Time. I struggled with most of it, didn't understand 3/4 of it, but I knew I wanted to know more! Science communication has come a long way in the last 15 years.
