If fxe5 Nxe5, and we still have the pawn+ I do not think he will advance the pawn to f5 And we can do our d6 next depending on his next move. Also Pete said we should castle within the first 10 moves, and this is within that allotted time.

the-sigularity 09-Dec-12, 11:26	OK If he advances his f5 this move will hinder his progress, and impede his aggressiveness. Not a move to be expected by a master, however if he underestimates our ability to counter, he may do so, just to play cat and mouse, but very unlikely. I believe a better move for ion would be more like Nd5 to force a N swap and enhance his control of the g file for his Q attack. But as you say, it is only something to contemplate, and not necessarily an eminent turn of events. At any rate, we should 0-0 and then decide what our next move should be, unless there is some other more substantial suggestion.

hogfysshe 19-Dec-12, 06:10	voting 10. ...d6 several reasons for this choice, ...further setting up of a stable foundation (hopefully allowing us to develop some offense). but I am open to being persuaded to switch if anyone finds a better option.

Perhaps someone else can come up with a brilliant recovery from this situation

fr1ar 28-Dec-12, 16:03	vote for d6 to reiterate whats been said, d6 to prevent e5 and open the light bishops diagonal. I think we are looking very good in this game. White does have space advantage but the force is to concentrated on the center, especially on d5, 4 pieces looking at that square. And that has weekend his kingside, also he now has 3 pawn islands. My plan would be to use the natural flow of the light bishop and queen towards a kingside attack and drive our queenside pawn island as far forward as possible to retard his pawn development, setting our extra pawn up with a little more advantage at end game.
