All Q vs. Ps
After 1. Kd8, why ...Kf6 -- why not ...b5?

1. Kd8...b5(?)
2. Qg5 (threat: Qe7#)...Kd6
If ...f6, 3. Qg8+...Kd6, 4. Qd5#
3. Qe7+...Kc6 (forced)
4. Qc7# ~ That's why.
(b5P blocks BK's escape!)

1. Kd8...Kf6 (prevents Qg5)
2. Qg4 (WQ locks BK into place!)...b5
3. Ke8...b6
4. Kf8...b7
5. Qf5#

To more advanced players, these explanations are too academic. But for beginners or even intermediate players, these notes are very helpful! 😊

4/21 = 19% ~ apparently 81% of participants are intermediate at best!

Woops!
Mistakes ---

In the last group of moves:

1. Kd8...Kf6 (prevents Qg5)
2. Qg4 (WQ locks ...)...b5
3. Ke8...b6 (((should be ...b4)))
4. Kf8...b7 (((should be ...b3)))
5. Qf5#
