I wonder if I would have seen this in a real game? Knowing there was a mate in 3 had me looking for the only move white had to give check ( Nf5). I guess nf3 gives check too, but it's fairly quick to see it won't work.
Without knowing there's a mate available, I'm not so sure that I'd have found the move.
