I thought I'd spotted a flaw...

... because it took me a moment to see Black's counter if White tries for mate by simply promoting the c-pawn? Black can actually get a knight back to delay the inevitable by one move. Nice puzzle.

Black can use a knight to check white's king if the king is not moved, so that makes it easy to know that each move is either a check or a king move.
