I went through the alternate solutions options and did not see an effective defense to Kh4 breaking the knight pin while ultimately adding the possibilities of king advancing to help the queen mate or capturing the rook and then doing a queen/ knight mate

Delayed myself by rashly assuming that ...h4+ would be an unaffordable delay but - you know the rest!
