There's finally a puzzle I can solve (several ways), but no, they're just traps. e; Any idea what this does to me going forward? e;

Cheer up.
The first chess problem I tried ( out of a book many years ago) was a Sam Lloyd puzzle with 40+ possible first moves.

I tried every one. I finally got it. It was the very last move that I chose to look at.

Zugzwang
As soon as you realize that Black has a problem when he is forced to make a move, you look for a move that hardly changes the board. And there is just one.

Agreed...
... It becomes clear (gradually) that White can't really move anything. So eventually you start looking at a 'nothing move' - one that does nothing at all, and yet offers Black no opportunities to spoil the party. Waiting moves are quite often the hardest moves to find - especially in dynamic situations.
