There's one square that simply cries out to be occupied
Just do it and work out the why afterwards. Satisfaction guaranteed...

why
Good puzzle but I can't see why 1.Rxb3 Rd2 2.Nb6+Ke4 3.Bb7# doesn't work

Well. Black responds to1.Rxb3? with 1...Rc2! (and not Rd2?) in order to play 2.Nb6+ Ke4 3.Bb7+ Rc6! No mate in 3.

Brain Teaser!
I actually settled on the key-move quite quickly because the setup reminded me of similar ones I've seen before but the response 1...Qxg2 stumped me for a long time. Good puzzle with lots of variation.

@paviland
My reasoning for the response to 1...Qxg2 was: what does that allow that was not allowed before? Of those squares that the black queen was guarding but is now no longer guarding, there is only one that White can access.
