Since queens cannot jump over rooks, more conventional methods must be used to get them out of the way.

Humorous, typical Giegold of course.
Before seeing the composer (from original 'hard' diagram) my first try was:
1.Kh8 Ba7 2.Ra8 Bb8 3.Qxa2 Bxa2 4.Rxa2 Kb1 5.Ra1# Ugh..one move too much.

Secondly a nice variation 1.Rxb6 Ba7 2.Qxa7 cxb6 3.Qg7# attracted me, but unfortunately 1...cxb6! was too tough.
After a deeper think I got the right idea and after 'activating' the problem saw the composer and immediately knew that my idea must be correct

And the position is just legal!! Black's pawns can get to their positions with 7 captures.
