Who Missed What

Nice puzzle because the first move is NOT 1Nh6ch, as in #7990. As the Japanese say: "modoki..." i.e. "the same, but different..." : )

Why not 1...R×e7(?)

1. Ne7+ ( if )...R×e7, 2. Qb8+...Re8 (forced), 3.Q×e8#
