![]() You don't own the puzzle until you make sure no one interferes or interjects it. You must own the puzzle from where ever it came and post it so NO ONE can disgrace it with alternative solutions or faster mates. Trust me and we can begin to clear up the mess we have here in GK with others who need to rework their own puzzles to get on a sort of "permanent" line of credit. I won't solve a puzzle listed with alternative solutions or faster mates against the poster. I skip those puzzles knowing that trying to waste my time on it means they eventually re work the puzzle if they are smart. There are many puzzles worked finely by posters without alts and faster solutions. We should ALWAYS focus only upon THOSE puzzles because we waste our time when a poster forgot to add an alternative solution or figure it out for himself. Don't waste time solving ANY puzzle with an alternate or faster mate. That puzzle is owned by the poster and the poster should fix it. If he doesn't fix it then he doesn't care. If he doesn't care then he shall be rapidly overrun. Trust me. |

![]() Some of us do learn more chess or just have more fun by improving puzzlesketches. Why do you take the trouble of improving puzzle and then writing lengthy nagging comments, when you could just skip the puzzle, solve the next one and leave the fun of improving dasman puzzles to the rest of us. |

![]() At anytime you can use my solution to make it your own puzzle. I have too many numbers here on this puzzle site to scrounge for a "faster solution" and when a puzzle has a "faster solution" I sort of expect the original poster to fix the puzzle and repost the puzzle under his name for the introduction. Heinzkat was kind enough to share this information with me and I took up his advice. I find I like it better when my my puzzles are totally unaltered by others here. Others here may or may not know chess but know how to use computers to shorten the long and narrow road to chess life. I will not allow them to interfere with my posted puzzles. Heinzkat required me to remove his name from any puzzle I posted and he worked better or solved alternately. He explained to me how to do it. I was sorry to repost without his name but he demanded I not list his name. You are the man here in this puzzle and you have every right to repost it purely. You found it and you are the owner. Heinzkat is pure in his logic about all this here on this "chess problem" site. If someone comes in with an alternate or faster solution you should rework the puzzle and repost. That way we are not wasting time or feeding off the frenzy of those who pretend to know chess. I hate those who pretend to know chess and I've encountered enough of that. I keep saying even Bobby Fischer couldn't come up with an alternate as fast as some of the others around here. To date I doubt anyone around here is as smart as Bobby Fischer--including myself. |

![]() If my numbers are high for solving puzzles here it is because I don't bother solving any puzzle I see listed here with an alternate or faster solution. I know that puzzle should be reworked or eventually shamed into rework by the author or poster so why should I waste my time working a puzzle already provided with alternates or faster solutions? I'd rather spend my time solving the multitude of other "perfectly worked and kept" puzzles of the OPs. I don't waste my time with any puzzle anymore that has other names attached to it. I skip them and continue to build on a fast foundation of puzzles that can't be reworked and I've still got a LOT to go before wasting time with alts and faster solns to recently posted puzzles. I am ahead of the computer geeks who don't know chess themselves and I intend to keep it that way by only solving puzzles WITHOUT alterations or additions or alternates or faster solutions. I look at the multitude of unsolved puzzles on my own "new puzzle" checklist. I avoid the alternative names and solutions and such. I only spend time solving puzzles that have NO OTHER ALTERNATIVES or OTHER SOLUTION or FASTER SOLUTION. I solve ONLY what can ONLY be solved the way it is posted. |

![]() though he is right that your puzzle must be your own and not interfered by anyone but there are many players here{I think so} who just like me feel happy and satisfied when they improve or give an alt solution. hence I really really dislike when ppl delete their puzzles with an alt. solution. therefore I am against the idea that GK should delete such puzzles automatically. I have improved about 10 puzzles and found alt. solution for about 70 puzzles but many ppl delete their puzzles. I hate this. |
