A good puzzle !!
I was just amazed that the white king retreated instead of taking the unprotected bishop on the first move.

Took me about 45 min to solve, making several wrong moves in the process. But that also included a second trip to the coffee pot.
However, I do agree that the 1st bishop move eluded me because I couldn't see through the fog of my limited consciousness to see the peril if Kxe3 was black's response.
I thought this was a good puzzle.

Lovely puzzle but...

White's threat of mate in one gave away that it had to be checks all the way through. It would have taken me a lot longer to find the solution -- took me only 1.1 x 10^45 planck units -- if I wasn't forced to check right out of the gate.

That said, the puzzle was quite instructive, and I rather enjoyed solving it.

good easy puzzle

Was trying to solve it in my head (like you have to do in a real over the board game). Was not too easy for me to find the first bishop's move.

Solution Time

I have been working on this puzzle since 1962 but had the advantage of working on it in a previous life. Success came after two chocolate muffins and a very LARGE cup of Kona (Hawaiian) coffee. (The muffins did have a high glycemic index...)

nice puzzle

The threat from the white queen means it has to be check every move so you can only use the bishop and queen. Looks wrong at first to risk sacrificing the bishop but you should quickly see that d4 then d2 give checkmate. I liked this puzzle as its not one that would perhaps jump out as obvious in a game. A good one to learn from.

Bishop Sac or not leads to Mate

Great puzzle ,some of the earlier comments from bunny are not needed,she is a strong player,one of her games against lostinadaze was a great game on how you should carry out a kingside attack ,but do not understand why she has singled out 1200 1400 rated players ,we all have to start somewhere,hope bunny understands that she might have been having a laugh but rises above it.

Definitely not easy to see the line:

1. ... Be3+
2. Kxe3 Qd4+
3. Kf4 Qd2#
