Qd5# Q returns to home position. Positions of this nature should be most predictable, since all pieces but for 3 or 4 remain unmoved. Students should be encouraged to visualize the entire combination. Children of 5 or 6 should be able to do this!

Two Branches ~ great for instruction

After 1. Qc6+...Kb8 (or Kd8) --->
---> Former: 2. Q×b6+...Qb7, 3. Nc6#
---> Latter: 2. Q×a8+...Kc7, 3. Na6+...Kd6, 4. Qd5#

Q returns to home position.

Positions of this nature should be most predictable, since all pieces but for 3 or 4 remain unmoved. Students should be encouraged to visualize the entire combination. Children of 5 or 6 should be able to do this!
