![]() I try and stay out of the forums for reasons you know why very well. There is an old saying and it goes like this: "I would rather speak out loud in a cave to myself, rather than try and communicate with some other(s),for at least I would get an intelligent echo back"!! Take care Hubert and hello again Tim!! Best, Joe |

![]() As for hiding pics, yeah—the request is odd. If implemented I can only think of one person who might use it. The bandwidth argument is the most robust, but the pic occupies maybe 1K, then is saved and summoned from cache. The two or three packets required for restoring the cache are minimal, and the pic helps cue who one’s opponent is far quicker than reading the name. The reason it won’t be implemented is because there are far more important and useful features GK is neglecting to implement. As for the icon and photo, this was disabled back when Henny Bogan was abusing the feature. If GK subscribed to a photo analyzing service separating the icon might double the price. I agree I would live to have that feature back as I want to change both my icon and my photo, I have made better looking chess sets and would do a better backdrop for the telescope mirror mold and components—one that included my beautiful face opponents could gaze longingly upon as I defeat them. |

![]() Plus, players who win as black tend to be stronger than players who win as white. I’m unsure why the ladder challenge defaults to black, but don’t view this as a relevant complaint. Half the games someone takes white. |
