 a Question on Chess Tactics .....I like to "read" a player (that should be try !), and would be interested to know if he leans towards Tactical or Strategic play, before a game (It was suggested i move this thread from a different forum , for better visibility , hope this the one) |

you want fiction or you want truth? But a rating based on winning, drawing, or losing games against seasoned opponents with a time control allowing both you and your opponent the in-depth mental calculation of lines, judgment of the resultant positions, and the psychological estimate of an opponent -- the gambles you make based on how you evaluate an opponent's hopes and fears, how successfully you predict his or her likely responses to the chances you take, and based on the conclusions you draw resulting from your analysis of his past game choices -- while still keeping the fun in the game -- that's a truth. That's a true rating worthy of a GameKnot player. |
