Can GameKnot start a new Chess game type? - Kriegsspiel

I used to enjoy playing this game, is GameKnot considering starting a series like this?

Common guys this is a real chess site.. Then you can also ask for poker or bridge etc....

I have very mixed emotions about variants. Some are fairly interesting, attempting to preserve or expand the essence of chess [Fischer random, hexagonal chess, etc]; but most are a litter of gimmicks like special moves or rules that are not particularly chess-like [suicide chess, atomic chess, etc]. I don't think Game Knot can practically accommodate either of these, without devolving into a series of variant request. In other words, if Game Knot met my desire for Singularity Chess, it would be unfair not to meet the desires of Bughouse players.

So if they were to implement anything new, it would require some almost universal level of respect or acceptance. In other words, you might get an unrated game of Fischer Random (which at one time had a large base of players and tournaments, largely due to the reputation of its creator) but probably not Kriegspiel.

If they were implemented as well as chess is here that would be great.
There are other sites where they can be played though.
