Records!
Does anyone know how to find out who has the longest GameKnot username (I used to think it was me)? Also, who on Gameknot has created the most annotations and who has commented the most? Thanks.

I may be wrong, but I think 16 characters, like yours, is the longest a username here can be?
IDK, but I once had a record, which was negative. But, how I found out is that I looked at who had what, who had the most I've ever seen and then compared it to how much more. This might be what you would do in an annotation or commented annotation, but then again, the chances of them ever mentioning how many annotations or comments they've had is generally low to none.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Has 18 characters in his name. Joined June 2014, he is apparently not an active player, though. aaaaaaaawsummmm = 15 characters. Most other users max out at 16 characters.
That's true. I have heard of one or two that have had that many, however.

@lord_shiva
Did you player search that?

First, 18 characters is the maximum any username can have at the moment. If you log out and open the sign up link, the page which asks for a user name cuts "12345678901234567890" off at "123456789012345678" which oddly enough is not yet taken. Maybe the system updated somewhere along the way because there seem to be a lot of arbitrary names cut off on the 16th letter. That said, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa is not the only one with 18. I was able to dredge up dastslacchasketk19 and adriiaan_yamunaque before I verified that 18 was the maximum entry allowed. Still lacking evidence of an 18 character player whose actually played chess here. Second, I quickly ran through a few handfuls of annotators whose accounts have not been deleted. The player I found with the most annotations is jstevens1 (496), and second most was damalfi (324). I think everyone else I saw was under 200. I simultaneously checked the commented annotations stat (which is not the number of comments, but maybe you where asking about this) and the top two were archduke_piccolo (1936) and l-d-j (1275). Plenty of high numbers but everyone else I saw was under 1000. Of course, these stats are from a fairly limited selection (probably close to, but not more than 50 players ... I didn't exactly keep count) and somewhat biased to the more current users...... so I may be missing someone.

I DID player search that. Afterwards I considered altering the player search parameters, to see if I could get better results, but I had other things to do. Sirisaac deserves some expression of gratitude for his effort on your other questions. I examined some annotated games, but did not see how to tally results.

Archduke
Has commented on my annotations. I would have gussed he might be near the top.
I forgot how many I had, but at the time, I had over 1100 commented annotations. However, most were recently deleted when I got in trouble with the website.
Edit: I'm not sure exactly how many. But, it was definitely over 1000. And, I'm pretty sure it was over 1100. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the exact number was 1186.
On the other hand, I looked and while he isn't returning. The person who, I believe holds the record, even surpassing mine at the time is l-d-j with 1275 commented annotations.

@sirissac
Thanks for finding all that out! How did you find that information?

Just to reiterate, I only looked at a sample so these people may not be the top, but should still be outliers. Anyway, all I did was open all the profiles of annotators on one page of annotations, looked at the stats and closed all tabs but those with the highest two numbers in either stat; then skip to another page and repeated that until I felt I had a good sample. I also tried to work from the back of the list the same way, but there are more deleted users.

I didn't realise...
... I might be the record holder for commented games. Nearly 2000 already! I would never have guessed there were so many. The actual number of comments must be well over 10,000 then. Some time ago I reduced the number of my annotated games, deleting those that weren't getting a readership as they were well back in the archives. I did keep those that were in the 'top 100' though. I discover the 'Best annotations' have been extended to 4 pages - 330 games. I have about 8 in that list (starting at about 80-something), but that's nothing against tag1153. He's probably the king of this list, though he does have rivals in ethansiegel, bakerbaker, mybookrunsdeep, and charleshiggie.

Thanks very much for weighing in on this topic. I have greatly appreciated your comments on my own annotations.

Thanks...
... I have often enjoyed the feedback - positive comments, and the accasional mistake being pointed out. Negative comments have been rare indeed!

How do you come up with "most moves made" and "longest game" ? Anyway, I came up current versions of all the others just for fun: via gameknot.com sorting columns Top Rated: akjoltoy (2693) Most Wins: mary (14,419) Longest Winning Streak: glovio (1,451) via gameknot.com using "sort by" function Highest Current Rating: akjoltoy (2693) Highest Top Rating (90 days): akjoltoy (2761) Highest Team Rating: johndyson (2189) Most Active Games: kylion, umberto15, and sekulic (200) Most Finished Games: eddy (31,051) Fastest Average Time per Move: arthaya (1 min)* * this reads a 94-way tie at 1 min but that's likely not the complete precession Gameknot stores, as the list of 1 min players is not sub-sorted by name or current rating. I would guess arthaya is the fastest, or there is a 2-12 way tie.

I also believe that I set a record. I have read 11 professional annotations, which isn't a surprise. But, why I think that I might have broken a record, is that, 9 of them are from GM's, involving GM games.
I don't know if it is, in general, for everyonelse. But, this was a personal record I set today. This week, I have annotated 4 games. The most set before that was 3, and mainly it was because of, "he who must not be named". This week surpassed that. In part, to keep a promise that I made. And, another record because the average is, at most, once per week. However, of those 4 annotations, three of them involved people that I trained. That has not happened before.
...
That's a pretty high volume of output, Joe!
Actually, I went back in time to when it was dated, and it wasn't even then. It dated back to when I first annotated games, not knowing how to make them public. So, I wound up 3, but these 4 were specific. The first one was because of the campaign. The second one which was a GM game is because I find it helpful to try and annotate a GM games since it's about studying games played by masters and grandmasters. The third and fourth ones were based on a promise I made to knightrider62 to annotate. So, I decided to get all of that done this week, so there wouldn't be as much to think about then
I do have one now. I commented on 4 annotations today. The record before was only half as much, dating a years back. But, today, I decided to comment on 4 since I enjoy them. I had a pretty good time doing so. And, by reading several, I start to realize even more of how much there is to learn.

I just noticed, that
I also should have one more record, I have finished 296 mini tournaments. Julia

2000 games with one player
Just finished my 2000st game against Kleinemax. I think that could be a record

Grrrr! I have my sights on you! I'm only his #3 most frequent opponent (with 595 games). I have to deal with his #2 opponent (over a 1000 games) first though.

Talk about records, I believe that one of my students has set a record. In the past, she has only annotated one game per day. But, last Tuesday night, she annotated two games. And, I was right there to add comments.
