I wonder... [annotation question]
Does anyone else think it's a good idea for public annotations to record how many times it's been visited?

I'm thinking along the lines of annotations that don't get rated or commented on - it'd be good for the annotater to know that it's been looked at at least, right?

Votes...
... on the quality of the annotation might serve the purpose. But many of us, including me, forget to place a vote. I do try to remember!

Otherwise you might be right about that. A 'last visited' date might not be that bad an idea as well. If occasionally thought of deleting some of my annotated games as probably not visited for well over a year... But then, sometimes I'll have a look to see if there have been any new comments. A visit count, and 'last visit' ought not to include the author's visits.

Food for thought.

A further idea...
... search through annotated games by player. Now, it is true there are a lot of games annotated on GK that do not involve GK players, and many that were not played on GK anyhow. Still, if I wanted to look up a list annotated games in which one x-machine was one of the contestants (rather than the autor of the annotation), say, there seems to be no way to do that.

Great ideas Ion...
Thinking about your first post, I don't always vote on annotation quality either - in fact, I think I
don't vote more than I do! There might even be some people who remain annonymous and don't
vote or comment...

The 'search player' option sounds great as well
