Javascript problems
Hi all, I'm having problems with Firefox, I wonder if any of you technological geniuses can help.

Basically, I can't analyse my games, I've had to postpone my games while I try and fix the problem. When I try to take the "analyze game" link, no window emerges and I can no longer see my options under "file, edit, view etc" at the top of my browser, or if I right click "my games" for example, as if to open it in another tab. Other javascript commands seem to work, I don't seem to be having any other problems with Firefox.

I've had a look at my java options and have enabled everything, but it hasn't worked. I'm close to removing FF from my computer and reinstalling it, but that's a last resort.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You should disable everything instead

Tried disabling, no joy.

I have another browser on my computer, I'd forgotten I installed Opera a few years back. I have no problem analysing my games on there so I guess I'll just have to use that browser until I figure out the problem. At least I can analyse now though so my worries are over.

Thanks.

If you are missing actual menu items in Firefox's main menu at the top, the problem is definitely bigger than some configuration options. Your entire installation is probably corrupt as I'm not actually aware of any configuration options that can remove the main menu in Firefox like that. Try disabling any of the add-ons or extensions you might have installed in Firefox (although I'm not sure how you would do it if you have no access to the "Tools" menu), and if it doesn't help, your best bet would probably be to un-install and then re-install Firefox altogether.

Thanks for that GK. I'm beginning to think FF is corrupt, often when I close the programme it continues to run silently in the background, taking up memory. I think it's time for that last resort.
