Well...
I actually know which pieces are which AND how they move. The trouble I have is figuring
exactly WHERE they should move. If someone could help out I'd appreciate it greatly.
I have just clocked up 5 years, and endorse the remarks above. Thanks GK.

I echo this - great site!
Will be 7 years for me later this year, and well over a year still to run on my current subscription, (which I'm sure I'll extend).
I still don't seem to have got any better at chess in those years though,

Two years...
or was it three? ah, what the hell, I love it here!
Oh, and the little horsey moves two squares one way one square the opposite way, two squares
perpendicular to the first two moves then diagonally to the direction of the first move.
Alternatively, it can land on whatever square the enemy queen is on but thanks to a very
annoying litch on Gameknot, I just can't get that to work most of the time!

Just over six years for me.
And planning to stay for another sixty.
My only claim to fame here is that I have been here one month longer than the great
heinzkat.
Actually, this past summer (winter for you guys on the southern half of the globe), Mike and his
team posted a nice piece about the history of GameKnot with some the names of the earliest
members. It was cool to read about that stuff.

Ah Thomas ...
We've been together so long, and it seems like only yesterday~! I noted (With Surprise) that Ive been here about 6 months longer than you. But it will Not Surprise me if I look to the games history and see you played more in your first 6 months than I did in my entire stay here ... You are becoming a GK institution (or is that GK Institute?! I can never remember the difference )

It has always been a great pleasure to play here. Though i used to play too much
Now i can handle it

I am for 8 years on gameknot and enjoyed it a lot! so far I have finished 24.492 games and I have the intention to play/ finish much more than this. I also have found many good friends here and I am looking forward to many more years on gameknot, years of interesting chess, meeting and talking with nice/interesting people about music and many other nice things.

10 years!
In August I'll be here on GK for 10 years! That's almost a third of my life!
There were times I wasn't very active on GameKnot, but always had 10 to 50 active games.
gameknot.com is just the best site on the entire net!

miscalculated...
it's been 7 1/2 years....registered my freshman year in college and have never looked back! I'm now 30 and still actively involved. Gameknot is my favorite site on the internet!

9 years in August
It'll be 9 years for me in August, and going on 12,000 games (and only 2 time-outs ).
Definitely the very best chess site - ongoing thanks, GK!! And thanks to those of you
above who have helped make my time here a great experience!

10 years in july and still counting.....
The time is flying, when you are in good company and this is the secret- being in good company from the very start of my entrance to Gameknot.com. This site is The Numero Uno, when it comes to chess on the net and I hope/trust this will go on for many years. I myself planning to stay here as long as possible and keep playing all these wonderful people here at GK.

I am glad to read that you plan to stay here as long as possible! so far you won all of our games, but I enjoyed all of them, you belong to the gameknot players, who really helped me to improve my chess! thx a lot for that! beside, our discussions about music were always beautiful.

Nine
I just went over 9 years this past March. I mostly play single games and some tournaments. I think the Blitz has been a disappointment but I am not being critical. I would get rid of it and reallocate the resources. The League is too slow and complicated and the gameknot tournaments can take years to finish. I liked the puzzle contests with prizes you did last year and I hope you bring those back this year. I am a Lifetime member....best money I ever spent.
