Some of us are related in real life. We are gender diverse. In addition we are geographically diverse with several countries and U.S. states represented. We are a chess family (We should probably be called Brothers and Sisters) . Our goal is to learn from each other and to improve our game, but most importantly to enjoy the fun and companionship of the game. We will remain a small team.

Dec 2018. A new chapter has begun for the Brothers Team. Two of my grandsons and a young man from Malaysia have joined the team!!!

Tears are flowing again as I report my brother Bob (rms2va) has died. He was of “The Greatest Generation”, a veteran of WW2, having served in Europe. RIP Bob. Perhaps he and Brad will be playing a game in heaven😢

SPECIAL NOTE TO GAMEKNOT PLAYERS WHO HAVE PLAYED BRADNY:

Yesterday, January 10, 2017, my natural/real brother, Brad, died. He suffered a long illness but continued making his chess moves through it all. One of the last things he asked me to do, Christmas Day, was to put his chess games on hold (yes, tears are flowing as I write this). I know many hundreds of you have played games with him. He was an excellent player.

He was a high school history teacher, and taught many youngsters to play chess. He was the chess team coach for his school in Canandaigua, NY. Our dad taught us to play when we were very young, and many in our family grew up loving the game. Brad was a real student of the game, and was by far the best player in our family. I also know he enjoyed many personal relationships via the chess he played on this site. I hope this note will reach at least some of those he played and who had an association with him. Our own team, The Brothers, will miss him greatly, and his own real brother, davewv, (me) will miss him immensely. Please help me pass this information to those you know who had a relationship with him.
