The benoni where white avoid playing e4 right away can be somewhat challenging for black. The reason being is that a good chunk of black's counter play comes from attacking e4.

I agree with elyhim. Since white does not have the weakness of a pawn on e4, white can develop comfortably. Also, the d6 pawn can become hard to defend at times after the fianchetto of the dark squared bishop.

It also gives black a much needed tempo in order to play Bg7

It attacks d6. The bishop wants to fianchetto, making the pawn annoying to defend.

There is no advantage of delaying ...Bg7. Remember that the key to the Benoni is controlling e5.

It also adds a flight square for the bishop after something like Nh5.

I am not so sure if 10... Nbd7 was the best approach. Perhaps 10...Nh5 11. Bh2 Be5!? 12. Bxe5 Qxe5 13. Nc4, and black seems to be doing ok. Now with 10... Nbd7, white has a very powerful passed d5 pawn after the exchanges.

Yeah, I agree with elyhim here. With a piece blockading the d5 pawn perhaps there is still a chance for black to hold this tough position.

Too dangerous in my books. I would be looking to find moves that do not create any further weakness. For example: 18. ...Rd8 (defending d6) 19. 0-0 Bf8 (defending c5) 20. Rac1 Bd7(attacking the knight) 21. Nxc5 b6 22. axb6 Rxb6 23. Nxd7 Qxd7 24. Qc3 Bd6! and white will have a tough time proving that he has something.

Possibly, at the end of elyhim's sequence, 25.Rc2, with the idea 26.Ra1 to follow?

Attacking when you have a weakness such as d6 is always suicide. A mark of a master player is having the sense of when to attack and when to defend. This is why ...f5 is bad.

21...Bf5 only serves to give white more space than he needs. I would have played ...b6
