I am guilty as charged. I make it a habit to play a little inferior moves and openings in Walking the walk games. My opponent must have the feeling that he has a chance and that he is doing well and is also learning something. And because of that they actually play better chess. much better then wen i try to get my opponent mated in less then 15 It is a common sight that in almost any game, wen facing a more skilled opponent that the underdog just play,s a better game.

I made this move because you said that in your game with charleshiggie you where surprised with a nice sacrifice attack. So instead of making the better 23...Nxd5 with the logical continuation of 24. exd5 Bf5 that gives me a extra pawn in the exchange. I made this move with the same outcome and looking like a sacrifice only with a pawn less.

Good reasoning. Just because the 'Master' has given up material does not mean the move is sound!. If you see no reason not to take; then take. As it happens, this is just an exchange, to simplify down; that is to say: reduce the material on the board. Black will remain the exchange ahead, and his K-side pawns will be ready to roll.
