Black's position is too strong for white to have opened it up with b5 earlier. Now it's clear that white doesn't have his rooks positioned well enough to defend everything in the position. Relatively best here was Ne1.

Better for white is 31. Bxh5 Nxh5 32. dxe4 Qxe4 (fxe4 wins white a pawn after 33. Rad1) 33. Rac1 Qxc2 34. Rxc2 and white gains the f3 square for his blocked-in knight and some pressure on the pinned c5 knight, possibly giving him a better endgame.
