Black plays Bxh3, and then if Kxh3, Qh5ch is mate! White would have to play (after ...Bxh3) Qg1 Qxg2ch; Qxg2 Bxg2ch; Kxg2 f6, and Black wins the pawn ending. ++++ Yes, I think I too would have offered the Queen exchange at b4. The Bishop ending looks very drawish to me.

Interesting! I would have played ....Qc2 myself. But on reflection, added pressure against d6 can't be a bad thing. It is not clear that the pin on the white bishop will amount to anything.

PMCA is correct. 32...Qd3 was better.But it was an inaccuracy not an error. Black still maintains the advantage.

34. e5 looks more natural to me, defending the pawn while leaving the queen covering the other pawns, and also opening the bishop's diagonal (which can be of use later, even though it's pinned now).

After 34.e5, Black plays 34....Qe2, and threatens 35...Bxh3! This possibility is why I would have chosen 32.Qc2, as played.

34.Qe5 i believe was ever so slightly better,as it protects everything.. Now begins the great rush to cash in the pawns for Queens, phase of the game. I could not see the end at this point.But i realized my King was far less vulnerable then the White King.. But when you play an avid OTB tournament player you have to be very careful.It reminded me of the fun i used to have at the local chess club.I have been so busy the past 7-months. i haven't had the chance or time to play OTB. Had this been an OTB game with proper time controls, i don't believe i could have won.

And that c-pawn looks very dangerous. Black has had far the handier minor piece, and, even just sitting there, snug and warm, on e6, has made a big difference on both sides of the board. For all its placement on the long diagonal, the white's bishop's influence is merely local. If e4-e5 could be safely accomplished, this might change, but that advance ins't so easy to arrange.

that's what i thought arch duke. But the game gets very unusual now. With pure tactics, and old fashion 'counting'. The Strategic part of the game is over.Though i did not see that at this stage.

I was wondering, first about 40...Qf1, which after a bit of a look doesn't do as much as I thought it might, and then, how about 40...Qcd1, threatening ...Bxh3 and ...Qxd6.
