does white rerally have to lose?

Why does not 4. Kg7 work? In my opinion white can get at least the remis?
What can Black move now???

White is in a tough position after

4.Kg7 Ke8
5.Kg6 Rg8+
6.Kh7 Rg5

I think Kg7 works for white

as it takes longer for black to win , only by a couple of moves , I'm glad it ended when it did because i thought white would take a different route ,
4.Kg7 Ke8
5.F7+ Rxf7+

According to www.shredderchess.com - 4. Kg7 is a better move than the move provided in the solution. It's 18 against 17 moves difference.

This continuation is poor (according to chess shredder)
4.Kg7 Ke8
5.Kg6 Rg8+
6.Kh7 Rg5

White better go for 5.f7+ as it was pointed above.
