Sorry, I think with 2.Bxc7 white runs into a checkmate!

1. ... Qe5
2. Bxc7 Rd1+
3. Rxd1 Rxd1#

The bishop on d4 (after 2.Bd4 from the solution) also has the purpose of closing off the d-file for the black rooks.

My first thought was Bxc7 as well. I need to start double checking what my opponent can play.

This one has a kick in the tail , so it is best to play it through , not as easy as it looked
