By taking the knight with the queen black at least gets two minor pieces in compensation. In breaker's line, the rook is lost for no compensation. Note that b6 is the perfect escape square for the knight. In the main line white ends up +3, in the latter white ends up +6.

Personally, I think I would rather try to claw my way back in the game down the exchange a queen for knight and bishop.
