There was a time when that was true, but the c3 Sicilian is now highly analyzed.

That is true, I mean relatively. White at least has the advantage of staying within a few lines to get a decent game as opposed to the many possibilities of more common sicilian lines.

I question that data base, I have followed it right into lost positions.

Another possibility is 7...Bxf3, doubling pawns on the f-file.

I guess that the essential thing about 11...Qb8 is that it prevents White's next move, which plays merry hell with the dark squares at Black's right-centre.

The irony of it, Iago. A while back it looked as though White might end up with a munted pawn structure. It turns out Black emerges with his infantry scattered.

I would agree. All five of Black's pawns are isolated. Black has slightly the better minor piece, but I'd give up the minor exchange, too, to have the sort of structural advantage White has here.

White has to consolidate. It's not clear how to accomplish this, but I'd probably begin by 19.Nd4, with the idea 19...Bc4 20.Rfd1.

Yep. You'd imagine white should win any endgame arising from this position (bar hanging a piece or what have you). Though swapping off to an endgame from here is probably easier said than done.

The thing about 24.Rd3 is that opens possibilities along the rank: b3 and anywhere at all on the K-side. White's plan should be to try and tie Black down to defending the d-pawn, and then keep switching the play from one side to the other, like a tennis player in control of the rally. If anything can give, sooner or later it will give...

h7 looks weak too if white can double up on the h-file. So another plus to Rd3 instead.

Not a bad idea, unfortunately your queen is at the front of the pile on and black has his rook in front of his queen - reverse the order and you would have certainly won a pawn!

It should almost axiomatically be part of your plan... but part only. White has targets all over the place. So far he has been fixated on one. Unless he wakes up soon, White will find many of those targets out of range, if they aren't already.
